Among the studies on KM, the majority of them focus on integrative technologies and very few address issues related to managing interactive technologies. The KM strategy literature, however, argues that it is important to integrate both tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge as well. This suggests the potential value of investigating both integrative and interactive technologies in one study. To that end, this project attempts to advance the existing literature by empirically examining the impact of a bundle of integrative technologies and interactive technologies on KM performance holistically. In particular, by drawing on the complementarity theory from the economics literature, this project is motivated by the following questions:
1) What are the different technology adoption patterns (i.e. when and what technologies should be adopted) in KM?
2) What are the performance implications of different adoption patterns?
